Vikes Cheer 2022-23 season tryouts (Day 1)

Tryout Fee: $10
Please e-transfer tryout fee to uvicvikescheer@gmail.com before Sept 18th or bring cash to day 1 of tryouts.

What to Wear/Bring:

• athletic shorts and t shirt (no spaghetti straps please)
  Vikes gear or blue, white, & black colors preferred
• cheer shoes or clean, soft soled runners
• hair tied back off of face
• water bottle
• One Card (*all students must scan their UVic One Card and sign CARSA waiver upon entry to the Performance Gym*)
• your best self!

Athletes must attend both Day 1 and Day 2 of tryouts. On Day 1 athletes will learn the materials (sideline cheer and/or band dance + stunts) required for the tryout on Day 2 as well as have a chance to warm up any tumbling/jumps. Athletes will also receive an information package on Day 1 that includes the season expectations and estimated associated costs for the year. On Day 2, athletes will tryout in small groups of 4-5 in front of coaches.

Please note:

• athletes who have been on the Vikes Cheer Team previously are not guaranteed a spot on the 2022-2023 Vikes Cheer Team.
• all athletes on the 2022-2023 team must be full time UVic students (3+ courses)
• the team plans to travel to compete at the University World Cup Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida in January 2023. All associated fees will be listed in the tryout package.
