Softball - Women’s

The Vikes Women's Softball team operates under the Vikes Athletic and Recreation Department as a competitive sports club team. The team consists of up to 16 student- athletes and a coaching staff.

Following a successful inaugural exhibition season in the Western Collegiate Softball Association (WCSA) league, the Uvic Vikes Women's Softball Club Team was approved to participate in the league as a full member since 2020. Other teams in the WCSA include University of British Columbia – Okanagan, University of Calgary, University of Lethbridge, Mount Royal University, University of Regina, University of Saskatchewan, and Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. Join the Softball - Women’s Club

Early recruitment, ID camps, and tryouts are in March and April of each year. Final team selection is completed in late July or early August.

The competitive season begins mid-August and runs until Thanksgiving weekend. Following 2 weeks of practice preparation in August, the team travels to compete in 5-6 weekend tournaments across the 8 week schedule. The team may also compete locally as scheduled, resulting in a 24-30 game fall season.

Off season training continues in January (meeting three times a week) for the winter term to prepare for the following season.
