The Sailing Club is participating in Vikes Giving Day! Support Student Sailors!
Sailing is a growing collegiate sport nationwide. UVic Sailing sends sailors across the country to compete and hosts events in Victoria, as well as Vancouver. This year, generous donations allowed us to send a team to compete and win Keelboat Nationals in Toronto.
Donations also allow us to run lessons, open to all associated with the University of Victoria. Typically, maintenance, procurement, and operating costs drive up the price of sailing lessons. Donations allow us to make lessons affordable for students and staff at UVic.
The UVic Sailing Club is a group for like-minded people who have a passion for sailing and much more! We offer sailing lessons, run a competitive racing team, and organize social events for members and their friends. The Sailing Club's race team competes as a full member of the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) throughout the school year. The team attends regattas all over North America, and hosts an annual regatta at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club.
The club's sailing lessons are open to all UVic students, faculty, and staff. The Sailing Club also maintains the UVic Sailing Compound in Cadboro/Gyro Park, where the club's boats and equipment are stored.
Learn how to sail through our Lesson Program or cruise around Cadboro Bay in our Recreational Sailing Program! Registration is through the CARSA membership services desk.
All equipment is provided to students.
To join the sailing club race team or JV team, a $90.00 membership fee per semester can be paid directly online (search sailing) or through CARSA Membership Services desk. Contact the club for specific training times and competitive opportunities.
