The UVic Curling Club welcomes all students interested in curling through two streams or programs. For information on recreational curling please check out the UVic Curling Club.
Our competitive curling program is focused on developing a pathway for UVic student athletes who want to progress along the Long-Term Curler Development’s Competitive Pathway. The program is specifically focused on training curlers looking to train and compete. For those interested in the competitive program, athletes can try-out for the program in September with final teams selected prior to January through our team selection process. The Men’s and Women’s teams will compete at the Canada West Curling Championships to qualify for the USports/Curling Canada Championships.
The UVic Curling Team is for experienced curlers who are interested in representing UVic in local, regional and national competition. Program selection starts in September with open try-outs. We will select a men’s and women’s team. In the event that we have enough athletes, it may be possible to field an A and B team. Both teams will compete in Canada West bonspiel with the goal of qualifying for Nationals.
The club trains 2-4 times per week from September through February at the Victoria Curling Club to represent the University of Victoria at Canada West, and USports levels. In addition the team will compete in some local tournaments to prepare for the upcoming university season.
