Overview

Location: UVic Quad
Pay Rate: $18/hour, plus 4% in lieu of benefits

Shift times:

• Morning Shift: 7:30AM – 10:00AM
• Afternoon Shift: 3:00PM – 5:30PM
• Duration: One day / two (2) shifts, Friday September 5th
• Positions Available: 10–15

We are seeking reliable and physically fit individuals to join our ThunderFest Event Setup and Takedown Crew. This is a casual, short-term position assisting with the preparation and breakdown of event infrastructure. Tasks include setting up 10x10 pop-up tents, placing and securing tent weights, arranging tables and chairs, and following a site map to ensure the correct layout.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and take down 10x10 pop-up tents
• Lift and move tent weights (up to 50 lbs)
• Set up folding tables and chairs
• Follow a site map and direction from supervisors to arrange event spaces correctly
• Assist with general event infrastructure setup and cleanup
• Work efficiently in a team environment

Requirements

• Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Punctual and dependable.
• Able to follow directions and work independently as needed.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Staff may be scheduled for one or both shifts depending on availability.
